Our Conferences and Training

The purpose of the Life Model training remains somewhat mysterious to most people until they experience the joy for themselves. Training the non-verbal control center in your brain, experiencing Immanuel healing moments, building emotional control and maturity are quite hard to describe in words. What we know best about all nonverbal joy training is that these skills are learned and developed through bonded relationships with people who already have the skills. Even in Immanuel moments we depend on the joy and relational skills with God for our results.

We are painfully aware that not everyone has joyful bonded relationships and almost no one we know comes by all the necessary relational brain skills from their childhood bonds. We have designed our conferences and training programs to help natural and spiritual families, leaders and counselors and churches and communities to learn and train together. The goal is joyful, maturing, multi-generation communities but we must start where people currently are.

Maturity Retreats
This year-long program is designed to slowly build joyful and thriving brain skills in a church or community context. The training is done in groups of three or more people and provides basic skills and community building experience. This program is built around spiritual formation and recovery from addictions and trauma. Skills can be learned without a partner.
Those who have a relationship where they can practice face-to-face joy at least once a week have an unusually delightful status on earth. Whether it is your parent, brother, sister, cousin, friend or spouse you can train and build your brain skills the way your brain is designed to learn best. We offer an intensive week of training once a year for three years.
A receptive community, church or cluster of churches can begin by learning how to make the best of the multigenerational maturity skills they already have. By hosting a maturity retreat you can help people identify the steps they need to grow in their maturity regardless of their age. They will also learn what they may take for granted but could offer to others and leave a life-giving legacy of joy.

Three Years of Training
We Come to You
We want all our facilitators to experience the same life changing joy and healing that participants experience. This means learning the skills before teaching them. To be perfectly frank about it, teaching this program like a concept and doing the exercises mechanically but without the emotional and spiritual skills will result in failure.
Learning to pass on the 19 brain skills to the next generation and community requires mastery of both the skills and the method to pass them on to others. We prepare participants through three intensive weeks of training and weekly exercises to do at home over three years. In the third year the focus becomes passing on the skills that were learned the first two years.
As a strategic, think-tank, model building group; Shepherd’s House would like to work with leaders and existing networks that wish to build joyful, mature character in their constituents and leadership team. The Life Model is a powerful model with many applications that may have the answers you have been seeking. E-mail us here.

What about the rest of the world?

Our goal is to develop these programs in Western countries but develop a self-propagating recovery model for areas of the world with high trauma and violence. We hope to develop replacement maturity and relational skills for orphanages and on a larger scale for AIDs orphans – particularly in Africa where an entire generation in the multigenerational transmission of brain skills and maturity has been decimated. We hope to apply the same solutions to areas where genocides have destroyed the existing multigenerational maturity structure and left high levels of trauma and addictions. Please see our projects to read more and find out how you can help.
